The past made me stronger

The past made me stronger  is the first video of (I hope) many others!
I spoke about something really important and difficult for me, I felt uncomfortable for a long time, but I finally had the courage to talk about it.
I'm so excited to share with you my journey and transition from the who I was to the fit and healthy person I want to be.
I hope it will help me to stay focused on what I want to achieve and to help and inspire others to never give up on their dreams and stay positive in every situation.
I know it is hard, it may will take a long time to happen, but I promise we will make it together!

So watch the video, leave a comment below and make sure to subscribe!
Bye, cute humans.

Vegan problems

This post was ispired by the lovely youtuber Kiera Rose

As a vegan I went though some ethical problems and annoying questions, so here's a list of my top 5 vegan problems.

1. When friends and family are not vegan and you have to struggle with the food they maky for you.
Let me explain. People I know usually understand what veganism is, but I can't avoid people arking if I can eat fish or cheese and the answer is NO I DON'T and I DON'T WANT TO.

2. Most of the people call vegans "maniacs" because we care about the quality of food and we read the ingriedients before buying something.
Personally it is something that freaks me out because caring about our health and about what we put in our about is not obsessive behavior, it is natural.

3. The B12 vitamin. I think the most annoying question is about vitamins. You would talk about animal right and health, but the only thing people can mention is your supposed shortage of B12.

4. Something I have to deal with is finding good avocados in the shop. In most of countries where veggies and fruit like avocados, mangos and papayas need to be imported the quality is not the best.
When I travel abroad and I eat incredibly delicious veggies and fruit is like christmas.

5. Recipes. In the last few months I discovered how easy to make and delicious are vegan recipes.
Being vegan is also eating healthy and being aware of your body and your soul. Internet is such a good source of information and new recipes to try, I recommend as a good vegan community the app VeganAmino where everyone can share tips and homemade recipes with the vegan community, incredible how useful is!
Let's try new recipes and feel comfortable with food!
(Search Greenish Minds on VeganAmino)

That's it, after this short list make sure to subscribe my channel (Greenish Minds) for new videos about veganism, self-love, travel and dreadlocks (the channel is growing up, more videos soon, help it to grow).

Spread the vegan message and spread your happiness all around!

I tried Juice Cleanse

I finally tried juice cleanse!
I've read a lot about it, but I've never felt ready to get into it.
Two weeks ago I decided to give it a chance.
I knew people usually do it for a period of time between 3 days to even 20 days, so I chose to try juice cleanse for 5 days.
For the first day nothing particular happened, I wasn't starving, I really didn't need any solid food and I felt like the other days.
The second day was different, I felt out of energy and tired from when I woke up in the morning to the night. At first I felt disappointed because I couldn't believe myself that weak, but then I remembered my body was trying to get rid of many toxins it needed to throw away. I just let the day pass.
When I woke up the third and the fourth day I felt incredible, energized and more productive. I went out for a run in the morning and I just worked better all day.
The fift day was the last one, so I decided to step up on the scale to see what changed and in only one week I lost 1 kg (4 pounds), which was not the reason why I tried juice cleanse, in fact I wouldn't recommend it to lose weight because (this is just how I felt about it) it was something out of my control.
In the end this is an incredible experience everyone should do to "get closer" to their bodies.
I began to recognize how my body react to different situation and how it cleans itself, it is beautiful.
Being aware of how much your body is incredible will motivate you to take better care of it.

Tips:
  • Listen to your body, it knows what it needs
  • Stay hydrated to let the body work
  • If you are starving and you can't resist, don't force yourself to keep going, gradually stop juicing and return to solid food

What I used:
  • Orange juice
  • Lemon juice
  • Carots and apple juice
  • Peach juice
  • Spinach and apple juice
  • Celery and fennel juice
Most of them are homemade and the others are 100% organic.

I am a vegan smoothie lover!

I LOVE smoothies, they are nutritious, delicious and colorful.
Today I'm sharing with you two of my favorite summer smoothies and one of my vegan ice cream recipes.
1.
Ingredients:
  • Frozen bananas
  • Carots
  • Apricots
  • Peaches
This smoothie is fresh and sweet.
It is perfect for a busy day or physical activities.
 2.
Ingredients:
  • Frozen bananas
  • Melon
  • Apricots
  • Peaches
This smoothie is so orange!

Personally, I consider colors a big part of eating food. It may be childish, but I'm more attracted to colorful food, eating a colorful meal I feel satisfied physically and also mentally.
Colors make me happy.

Banana ice cream

Ingredients:
  • Frozen bananas
  • Peaches
  • Cocoa powder
In addition:
  • Oatmeal
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Chopped flaxseeds
  • Melon
It taste so delicious!

During the summer, I mostly use peaches, melon, apricots, watermelon because in my country they are very common and they are seasonal fruit.
It is very important to use seasonal fruit because they are in their optimal state, ripe and full of vitamins.
In my opinion what really matters is being aware of where the veggie come from and how they have been cultivated.

Motivation

This morning I was thinking about motivation. What motivates people to do something they ardently want?
Whatever it is your purpose, you need to focus on why you want to do it.
I will try to summarize what worked for me (with some examples):
1. Inspiration
When I decided to go vegan I had a lot of doubts, I admit it, but I got my inspiration from almost 4 people:
The first one is my father. On his highest weight (110 kg – 242 pounds) he decided he couldn't go on like this because he wouldn't have been here today to see his daughter growing up. It took him 5 years to lose 40 kg and now he's one of the happiest person I've ever known.
Two years ago he also decided to go vegan and work on his body to be healthier and stronger for me and my mother.
He is such an inspiration to have the strength to change my life as he did!
The second one is a lovely girl named Alyse who has a youtube channel Raw Alignment (she is amazing) and last but not least two brothers from Norway (youtube channel Sweet Natural Living).
I got inspiration from them to follow my dreams, to keep studying about health and I had the chance to see with my eyes the real connection between being healthy and being happy.
For those you have any doubt about changing diet or you want to change your habits to feel better with yourself, I want you to know you have the strength to do it.
If you are scared or afraid about what can happen, just take your time to study the topic more and get into it then, try it when you feel ready.
You can discover that it may fits for you, it could even make you happy.
2. Support
If someone supports you for what you are doing, it will be like you are doing it together, it could be quite easier.
I'm really lucky because my family always supported me for almost everything I did in my life. I know maybe not everybody can say the same.

I went to xfactor last year, I'm not that proud of how it went, but my father was there for me, to support me anyway.
During the audition I made a mistake and I just gave up, I knew that was not what I want to do with my life.
That experience gave me the chance to learn one of the most important things in life:
The best supporter for you... is you.
Believe in yourself and you will do whatever you want.
You can make mistakes, but it doesn't matter because every mistake will let you know more about yourself.
3. Intuition
Potentially you can completely change your life overnight, but if you aren't ready it will only upset you.
This is what intuition stands for, you need to find the optimal conditions to be ready to change, physically and mentally.
It is similar to when you read a book: some years ago it may was insignificant, but if you read it today it might be a revelation.
Things need time to happen, if not today, maybe tomorrow.

Let me know what works for you, what you are planning for the future and how far you want to arrive!

This is my story.

Hi,
I'm Anna, an 18 girl from Italy. I decided to start this blog to share with the world my story and my journey to an happy and healthy life. If someone is reading this, make a noise, comment below and let me know what you think!

This is my story, different (maybe similar) to others, just mine.
I've never felt confortable with food. Since I was young I've always been very choosy, my diet only consisted in dairy products, meat, sweets and a few types of veggies and fruit.
Obviously, following such a bad lifestyle, I've always been an overweight child.
I had no confidence, no self esteem, just nothing to be proud of.
Growing up, I went though bullying and people always made fun of me. Five years ago ( I was only 13), I was diagnosed with depression, social anxiety disorder and OCD.
I used to spend my days feeling extremely sad and commiserating myself. I self-harmed until one year and a half ago, it is not a secret for who knows me in person.
I have had enough of it, I couldn't take it anymore.
I just wanted to care about myself more than I did before, so after some therapies I stopped harming myself.
I started surrounding myself with positive people, colours and positive vibes. I also started feeling confortable with my scars which I know for sure it was one of the scariest things to me.
I am now on my last high school year and my life is completely different, maybe a little bit lonely, but absolutely happier.
It took me a long time to recover, but now I have the stregth to make my life even better.
I want my life to be healthy, happy and full of great experiences.
I currently pursue my passion for photography, music and travelling.
I used to be vegetarian for the last year and three months ago I got interested in veganism and health consciousness for the first time, I went vegan since then.
I also started exercising more and doing a lot of little actions to make my days full of positive vibes.

I'm here to lend a hand to everyone who wants to get better from a bad experience/period and to tell my story because happiness is real only when shared (Into the wild).

P.s. If I made some mistakes I'm sorry.
