Photography and photographers...

If you have already spent some of your time on this blog you will probably know who I am.
When I say "Who I am" I mean who I really am, because I'm not only a dreadhead with a blog.

                                     This is me

Photography is not only a passion,
It represents my father as a photographer and as such an important person in my life.
It represents my granparents who always believed in me and gave me my first camera as a gift.
It represents my perseversance and all my sacrifices.
It represents every day I spent busking to have the money to travel.

It represents

The places I saw

The adventures I lived.

I'm thankful for all the sunsets

For all the people I met

And for who I haven't met yet.

Some of the photos I collected during the past two years

If you liked them (I hope you did) you need to check them out on Facebook or Instagram

I'm sorry for "spamming" part, I prefer the creative part too.
I found and lost myself in the photos I make, this is so beautiful. I've never felt like this before.
Do you know that feeling when you live "here and now", you are the moment, you are everything and everything is you, don't you?
Well, if you don't, stop whatever you are doing and begin to live your life as you want it to be.
Don't let anyone tell you that You can't do it.
Forget about career, money, people's opinion, and ask to yourself "How do I feel?"... and remember that if there is someone who can change your reality, that person is YOU.
Let's live in freedom and peace, let's make friends and contemplate the sunset, let's live every moment.

When life is not as you expected

Dear You,

Lovely you, who woke up this morning with the question "What am I doing here? Am I happy?".
You're building your existence, this keeps your eyes open on the world around you, this makes you stronger everyday more.
If you're not happy with the aswer to these questions you need to know that's okay.
That's fine if you are eighteen, thirty or even sixty. You're living life caring about your happiness and this is something to be proud of.
You woke up this morning, looked in the mirror and put a smile on your face, well, how true was that smile? Did you let the day fly away or you lived it?
How many days are going to fly away before you will pick up life in your hands? This is your own life, it doesn't belong to anyone else. Who will change it if you don't do it by yourself?
Go outside, take a breath and see what's around you. Do you like it? Do you feel this belongs to you? If that's not, run, run away until you run out of breath.
Build a life which can represent you, build a life where the reason to wake up in the morning is to live.
I know it's scary to change, you leave something familiare to look for something you probably don't know what it is.
If anyone will support you, well, I will, but you HAVE to support yourself first.
Believe in yourself, as a human you are incredible, you can go wherever your heart brings you, just follow it.
Take care of yourself, phisically and mentally, because if you won't do it who will do it for you?
I woke this morning asking myself "Where am I going?" and do you know what's the answer? I have no idea, so I started laughing, I almost cried.
It's okay to not have an clear idea of what you're doing or where you're going, that's life, but it must not stop you.
You're strong, I know you're strong.
I'm so proud of you.
We will go over this and what we will find will be magnificent.

Believe in yourself,
because I do.
See you soon.
Bye.

Life begins every single day

I had the ispiration to write this post from some things that have happened recently.
There is only one thing I want to say to everybody out there who are going through bad times and it is "I care and I can understand".
I know saying "You'll get better" doesn't work, you feel stuck in a life you don't want, you feel like i cage made of your own skin.
I know how it makes you feel and I know how strong you have to be to live everyday with that feeling.
I know you wake up in the morning and the world seems grey every single day, it seems you can change anything.
You suffer and you give up thinking you deserve what is happening to you.
You feel heavy under the world which is crushing on you, you feel guilty because you don't have the strength to run away and escape from all that fear and pain.
Nobody around you seems to understand you and you start blaming on yourself because they can't hear you're screaming inside.
I know you feel alone even if there is someone else around you, you stop talking, smiling and You stop living.
Well, you don't even know how powerful you are to take all that boulder on your shoulders.
It is ok to not have everything under your control, it's not your fault if people can't understand you, it's not because of you people are disappointed.

When you will realize how strong you need to be to bear all that stuff, because you will find it out one day, you will discover what is behind all that pain.
You will discover how you really are, how positive and beautiful you really are.
Nobody will stop you, you will do whatever you want because you survived worse situations, because you had the power to win the sadness.
You need to find out what ispires you and motivates you and you will be invincible.
I know it takes a long time to recover from all that fear that kept you paralyzed, this is a long journey, but you have to do you for yourself, to find how you truly are and begin to live life.
You DESERVE to be happy and smile everyday, that's what you really deserve.
Don't let others to say the opposite.

It may not matter, but I care about you, I care about your happiness. Stay focused on what you want and stay positive! You can change your life if you want to.
Be the best yourself, do it for your own happiness because you need to live, not just to survive.

This is the story behind the everybody's scars, mine too. I've always seen my scars as a big failure, a symbol of you I did wrong in my life, but now I can see beyond them, I can see the person I was to understand the person I am, they remind me everyday what I went through and I strong I am to be here now.
I'm so proud of myself and I'm so proud of you!
Stay positive, spread your happiness and be the best yourself!

Vegan problems

This post was ispired by the lovely youtuber Kiera Rose

As a vegan I went though some ethical problems and annoying questions, so here's a list of my top 5 vegan problems.

1. When friends and family are not vegan and you have to struggle with the food they maky for you.
Let me explain. People I know usually understand what veganism is, but I can't avoid people arking if I can eat fish or cheese and the answer is NO I DON'T and I DON'T WANT TO.

2. Most of the people call vegans "maniacs" because we care about the quality of food and we read the ingriedients before buying something.
Personally it is something that freaks me out because caring about our health and about what we put in our about is not obsessive behavior, it is natural.

3. The B12 vitamin. I think the most annoying question is about vitamins. You would talk about animal right and health, but the only thing people can mention is your supposed shortage of B12.

4. Something I have to deal with is finding good avocados in the shop. In most of countries where veggies and fruit like avocados, mangos and papayas need to be imported the quality is not the best.
When I travel abroad and I eat incredibly delicious veggies and fruit is like christmas.

5. Recipes. In the last few months I discovered how easy to make and delicious are vegan recipes.
Being vegan is also eating healthy and being aware of your body and your soul. Internet is such a good source of information and new recipes to try, I recommend as a good vegan community the app VeganAmino where everyone can share tips and homemade recipes with the vegan community, incredible how useful is!
Let's try new recipes and feel comfortable with food!
(Search Greenish Minds on VeganAmino)

That's it, after this short list make sure to subscribe my channel (Greenish Minds) for new videos about veganism, self-love, travel and dreadlocks (the channel is growing up, more videos soon, help it to grow).

Spread the vegan message and spread your happiness all around!

From Barcelona, with love.

Who's never been in an art gallery will never understand the poetry of the atmosphere.

Watching art, breathing art and walking though art.

Falling in love with a colour,
with a smile in a painting,
with a sight,
with a face...

... with someone who lived years and years ago.

You see the magnificence of someone looking at you though a century.

In an art gallery you find yourself,
you find out what you love,
what makes you feel something, you know?

But in Barcelona you can't escape art.
Art is everywhere... in every single little stone.

Maybe is the sangria speaking,
but I see colours.
Don't you?

I see colours in the light.

I see colours in the dark.

I see the beauty in nature...

...and in architecture.

I see the bubbles.

I see the people.

And I've never felt home more than this.

As I promised this is the illustrated story of my trip in Barcelona.
If you're asking all photos are mine and there is a piece of heart in all of them.
Barcelona was amazing, full of art, culture and colours... It couldn't be better for a happy and curious person like me.

Let's talk about you!

This post is related with the previous one.
If you liked it, you need to read this one because you will get more information!
Why Green?
Green represents hope and tranquility in many cultures and it is the most natural colour in the world (don't worry I won't forget the other colours), we would be surrounded by green if we let nature flourish.
What do you mean with "Happy community"?
There are a lot of communities around the world, internet helped them to become international, but talking about different ideas, opinions and beliefs we have forgotten something which can unite all of us: Happiness.
This feeling is what everyone share, it doesn't matter where we come from or why we are happy, we can describe it and feel happy together.
Who will be part of the community?
Everyone who wants to.
I don't want it to be about me, I have already spoken about my happiness on this blog. On the channel I want to talk about what makes YOU happy.
How can we do it?
Easy, tell me your story.
Tell me what makes you deeply happy, tell me what you experienced and what you've learned. Talk about something is really important for you, a part of your life.
Why?
I see beauty wherever I look.
I think there is something straordinary in what is ordinary, we can find beauty in everything.
It may not make sense, but for me it does because I know being not used to happiness is really common nowadays and it is stressful.
We shouldn't despise things we haven't when we could appreciate what we have.
This is the reason behind it.
Feeling part of a community makes us happy because we feel attached to the group we belong, so I'm asking to you: Would you join a community where all you need is happiness?
If you would, help me to make it possible.
What you need to do:
  • Write and tell me your story sending it here -> greenishminds@gmail.com
  • Enclose a photo of you
I will reply and you will know when and where (blog and channel) your story will be published.
Help me to make a dream possible, help me to make people smile and be happy with your story.
Why should we do it?
Big question, but I won't choose the reason for you.
Talking about sad or incredible things it's too easy. I want to focus on love and happiness in the everyday life because it is not straordinary, it is REAL.

Why I started this blog

After a few posts I wanted to talk about the reasons why I started this blog.
"I was not used to happiness", this is the reason, not that obvious, so let me explain.
I spent most of my life struggling with my dissatisfaction and my pessimism so I've lost a lot of wonderful things from my teenage years: the first kiss, the first trip without parents, hanging out with friends all night. These experiences just flipped away and one of my biggest regrets is I didn't enjoy them, I didn't find any beauty in what I did.
Luckily, better late than never, I realized there is such plenty of beauty in life.
I started taking care of myself, studying more and appriciate everything life would give to me. I kept my eyes opened and I discovered what being a child feels like, so everything around me looked new and magnificent again.
Nowadays I find almost everything which surround me incredibly stunning and it makes me really happy.
We are close to the end, don't worry.
During the last years I joined many communities (vegan, for the animal rights, volunteering, artistic...) which welcomed me with joy and let me feel at home, so I had an idea: why not create a HAPPY COMMUNITY.
A "place" where people can share their passions, what makes them happy.
I'm also thinking about starting a youtube channel with the same aim, interviewing everybody want to share something which makes him/her happy.
I would like to share with you a quote from one of the most touching movie I've ever seen: "Happiness is real only when shared" (Into the wild).
Let's share our happiness and let's be happy together.

Please, If you read this post, comment below (anonymously too, I don't mind, but do it). It would mean a lot for me to read what you think.
Thank you so much.

How photography changed my life

My whole life has been marked by falling in love with art everyday, from visual arts to music and phylosophy.
I've always had passion for drawing, since I was young.
During the elementary school I wanted to be an artist, I was not very talented, but I had passion. I used to spend hours and hours drawing, which was the only thing that mattered to me and I don't regret it.
On my last year I started playing piano just for fun, but I immediately fell in love with how music made me feel and in a few years I also learned how to play guitar, cello and I joined a band.
I felt so lucky for having the chance to be on stage and singing the songs I loved, sharing my passion with the audience was incredible and also helped me with my shyness.

The passion for music influenced my decisions too because four years ago I chose an high school where I'm currently studying music.
I don't regret any of my decisions, I've built my life on art and beauty and it is amazing.
When I got interested in photography I was speechless, I've never been good at using words to describe the reality around me, I used to see the world like a grey and sad place to live in, but when I saw the colors my life changed.
I found a way to share my colorful vision of the world without words, photography made it possible.

I tried Juice Cleanse

I finally tried juice cleanse!
I've read a lot about it, but I've never felt ready to get into it.
Two weeks ago I decided to give it a chance.
I knew people usually do it for a period of time between 3 days to even 20 days, so I chose to try juice cleanse for 5 days.
For the first day nothing particular happened, I wasn't starving, I really didn't need any solid food and I felt like the other days.
The second day was different, I felt out of energy and tired from when I woke up in the morning to the night. At first I felt disappointed because I couldn't believe myself that weak, but then I remembered my body was trying to get rid of many toxins it needed to throw away. I just let the day pass.
When I woke up the third and the fourth day I felt incredible, energized and more productive. I went out for a run in the morning and I just worked better all day.
The fift day was the last one, so I decided to step up on the scale to see what changed and in only one week I lost 1 kg (4 pounds), which was not the reason why I tried juice cleanse, in fact I wouldn't recommend it to lose weight because (this is just how I felt about it) it was something out of my control.
In the end this is an incredible experience everyone should do to "get closer" to their bodies.
I began to recognize how my body react to different situation and how it cleans itself, it is beautiful.
Being aware of how much your body is incredible will motivate you to take better care of it.

Tips:
  • Listen to your body, it knows what it needs
  • Stay hydrated to let the body work
  • If you are starving and you can't resist, don't force yourself to keep going, gradually stop juicing and return to solid food

What I used:
  • Orange juice
  • Lemon juice
  • Carots and apple juice
  • Peach juice
  • Spinach and apple juice
  • Celery and fennel juice
Most of them are homemade and the others are 100% organic.

From Dublin, with love.

We arrived in a dark house,
outside it was raining,

We fighted with monsters,
Apparently made of wax,

But someone from our childhood helped us
And  with magic tricks and potions
We made it.

We ran down the stairs
We saw a window, we saw freedom

Too many stairs...
We felt like in a Harry Potter's movie
And a little bit confused

We discovered freedom in a trail of lights,
In a guinness, but not a price,
It was a beer

We were in a magic pub
With plants on its head,
It sweared these were its hair.

I don't know, maybe we were drunk
but one thing I know for sure
there is always a light in the dark.

I am a vegan smoothie lover!

I LOVE smoothies, they are nutritious, delicious and colorful.
Today I'm sharing with you two of my favorite summer smoothies and one of my vegan ice cream recipes.
1.
Ingredients:
  • Frozen bananas
  • Carots
  • Apricots
  • Peaches
This smoothie is fresh and sweet.
It is perfect for a busy day or physical activities.
 2.
Ingredients:
  • Frozen bananas
  • Melon
  • Apricots
  • Peaches
This smoothie is so orange!

Personally, I consider colors a big part of eating food. It may be childish, but I'm more attracted to colorful food, eating a colorful meal I feel satisfied physically and also mentally.
Colors make me happy.

Banana ice cream

Ingredients:
  • Frozen bananas
  • Peaches
  • Cocoa powder
In addition:
  • Oatmeal
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Chopped flaxseeds
  • Melon
It taste so delicious!

During the summer, I mostly use peaches, melon, apricots, watermelon because in my country they are very common and they are seasonal fruit.
It is very important to use seasonal fruit because they are in their optimal state, ripe and full of vitamins.
In my opinion what really matters is being aware of where the veggie come from and how they have been cultivated.
